Who is Wellspace?

Wellspace is your new employee health and wellbeing provider. Your employer has partnered with Wellspace and this service is completely free for you to use.

Wellspace is a health technology company on a mission to improve mental and physical health and wellbeing by using cutting edge intelligent technology and data. The Wellspace model works through a cleverly designed smartphone application that can provide online access to mental health, physical health, nutrition and sleep resources and content. The system is 100% anonymous and designed to empower you to monitor your own health and wellbeing and make positive behaviour changes.

Wellspace is asking for profile information during sign up within the app, why?

All profile information during sign up is voluntary and not mandatory. All information is 100% anonymous and not shared with your employer or any 3rd party. Wellspace use these insights to create anonymous cross industry and demographic health data insights to improve the service in the future.

My steps aren't correct last week, why?

Wellspace only pull steps through in an active competition week, so for example you can open the app on a Monday and then again on Sunday and it will pull all the data through from that week, after Sunday at midnight that competition is ended and we dont pull through historic steps from that week.

This way creates a fair competition to decide winners at midnight on Sunday and encourage users to engage with the app regularly.

Apple is very keen to emphasize how highly it prioritises your privacy. Data in the Health app is encrypted both on your devices and on Apple’s servers, and if you have two-factor authentication turned on for your account (which you should), not even Apple can look at the health logs you’ve built up.

You can read Apple’s privacy policy here

Once you tell Google Fit a little about yourself (gender, date of birth, weight, and height), you’ll see a quick walkthrough of the app’s two main activity metrics: Move Minutes and Heart Points. After that, you’ll find yourself on the app’s home screen.
There are three main sections of the Google Fit app: Home, Journal, and Profile. A brief description of each can be found below:
Home: The Home screen shows an overview of your current day’s activities and health metrics, including Move Minutes and Heart Points, steps taken, calories burned, distance traveled, heart rate data, and weight.
Journal: The Journal could also be referred to as a schedule or an agenda. It’s a simple, scrollable list of all your recorded activities, whether that be a short walk or a long swim.
Profile: The Profile page is where you’ll adjust your Move Minutes and Heart Points, as well as personal information.

Do I have to use Google Fit?

For those users that do not currently make use of a wearable (Garmin/Fitbit others will be added shortly) then Google Fit is the only way in which Wellspace can effectively engage with you as a user. We collect your step data every time you open the Wellspace app, but only once you have authorised us to do so, If however you don’t use a Garmin or a Fitbit then it is not necessary to use Google Fit.
